About Audrey

Audrey likes to try to show others the magic and mystical qualities of everyday life, and not to be afraid of what lies beyond. She takes inspiration from the life that can be given to people after death, and mythological stories and beings. The beauty of death and the preservation of one’s memories and their experiences are carried within their remains. She likes the idea of preserving the memory of a being through painting the skeleton. Audrey uses her art to give life back to the beings that have lost it and to depict death within the beauty of life. Myths, legends, beasts, and spirituality can be seen across all cultures. It is the tie that unites us all. She likes to share the stories of myths and stories surrounding women throughout time. Audrey likes to try to show others the magic and mystical qualities of everyday life, and not to be afraid of what lies beyond.

Audrey Rumzek’s paintings, drawings, and prints never start from one singular idea. Making art is an intuitive part of her life. She usually chooses a combination of the two ideas that excite her the most or asks for outside opinions from fellow artists and friends. As far as her process goes, she tends to prefer harsh unblended shades and shapes over smooth gradients and gravitates to a palette of vibrant colors.
